This course will study the history, importance, and musical intrigue of the Pierrot-plus and Sinfonietta instrumentations and how they influenced chamber works written in the 20th and 21st centuries. Classes will consist of active listening and discussion, score-study, and composition projects. A background in music is helpful, however, no specific experience is required except the ability to read music/study scores. Students of various disciplines are welcome and should contact the instructor with any questions (firstname.lastname@example.org).
There will be a Course Reader for this class that the students will be required to purchase
