MID-RESIDENCY REVIEW

Course Description

All College of Creative Studies Writing & Literature majors must undergo a Mid-Residency review halfway through their residency in the college (often, in Winter quarter of their sophomore year or, for transfer students, during the Winter of their first year). The Mid-Residency Review gives faculty an opportunity to check in on students’ progress towards their degree, review their Writing & Literature portfolio, and address any challenges a student might face in the major.

At the Mid-Residency Review, students also get an opportunity to pitch the work they hope to complete for their Senior Capstone Projects, which include a body of creative and/or professional work and research to support that work. Faculty and Writing & Literature seniors will provide written and oral feedback on the pitches.

As a part of the Mid-Residency Review course, students will also have an opportunity to engage in reflective learning and serve as peer reviewers for Writing & Literature Senior Portfolios.
