Often we do not think about the role that emotions play when we are engaged in various technologies, such as, social media, games, learning management systems,computers, mobile technology platforms, etc. Media, and more recently digital, environments have been manipulating our emotions since the beginning of time? Remember how music influenced our engagement with film? Try watching a film with no music. What about no sound at all? What sort of emotional experience will you have as you watch film, play games and listen to the radio, or while learning through with and by technology? What, if any are affective aspects of machine learning? This class is about the role of emotions/affects within, among and between technologies, including electronic games (e.g. multimedia computer based, Internet based, artificial intelligence and mobile).
