Course Description

This multi-genre creative writing workshop invites students to explore the art of blending genres, breaking boundaries, and experimenting with unconventional forms. In this course, students will engage with hybrid texts—works that merge narrative forms, genres, and styles—while expanding and complicating the notion of genre within their own writing. Emphasizing literary innovation, this workshop encourages students to explore the fluidity of genre and language. Whether through prose-poetry, autofiction, flash fiction, experimental essays, and other fragmentary or nonlinear forms, students will discover new ways to express complex themes and personal experiences in unconventional ways.
