MARINE POLICY

Course Description

In this Special Topics class, students will learn how marine resource management is governed by policies at state, federal, and international levels. Explore the process of science-informed policy in emerging areas, such as deep sea mining, marine carbon dioxide removal, and offshore wind energy. Classroom activities will include reading bills and treaties, authoring policy briefs, and debating policy recommendations. Open to upper-division undergraduates.
