JUNIOR TUTORIAL

Course Description

Students work independently with their faculty advisor to develop information and expertise necessary for their senior portfolio. May include training in methods, apprenticeship experience, or independent reading and coursework.

Junior Tutorial provides space for Writing & Literature majors to make progress on their Senior Capstone Projects in close consultation with a faculty mentor and their peers. The process is largely self-guided. Students will choose what projects they wish to work on and what readings they will do to inform that work. However, Junior Tutorial is also about developing and committing to a deliberate, intentional writing practice. As such, students will be held accountable (by the professor and by each other) to make word counts, meet deadlines, and, most importantly, write.
