MULTIMEDIA WRITING WORKSHOP: THE ART OF LITERARY PODCASTING

Course Description

Podcasting gives writers another format to tell stories, engage in the literary community, and build a platform. In this class, students will explore a number of different kinds of literary-themed podcasts, including book reviews, deep-dive interviews, and narrative dramas, and develop a podcast of their own. In the process, students will gain skills in storytelling, interviewing, developing voice, analyzing audience, and audio production. Students will leave the course with a clear concept for a podcast, at least one episode recorded, and a plan for how to keep the podcast going after the quarter ends. No previous technical experience required.
