PROJECTS IN COMPUTER SCIENCE

Course Description

This upper-division course allows students to work on a self-directed project, applying computer science concepts to a novel challenge. Students can choose to work individually or in groups, with collaboration encouraged. Projects should introduce something new—whether based on a recent research paper, an open-source project, or an emerging technology. Class meetings will involve project updates and longer-form presentations, fostering collaboration and feedback. By the end of the quarter, students must produce a deliverable, such as a functional application or a technical paper, demonstrating their ability to tackle complex problems and contribute to the field. Open to students of all years.
