Course Description

Artificial Intelligence is reshaping how we think, create, and solve problems. This interdisciplinary course invites both beginner and advanced students—from computer science and beyond—to explore the concepts, tools, and ethical dimensions that define AI today.

We will cover core topics including machine learning fundamentals, neural networks, natural language processing, and AI-driven creativity, while emphasizing real-world applications across domains such as healthcare, robotics, arts, and natural language processing. Students will gain both conceptual understanding and hands-on experience through coding or research projects, critical discussions, and collaborative exploration. By the end of the course, you will be equipped with knowledge and skills to engage with AI responsibly and innovate within your own discipline.

Invited lectures by alums and innovators in the field should add vibrancy and opportunities for connecting with real world applications and research opportunities.

This is a variable unit course where you can receive up to 6 units based on your effort and participation, 4 units indicating a regular class load, fewer units based on attendance can be arranged with the instructor's approval.
