Course Description

This course explores the intersection of technology with an emphasis on artificial intelligence, critical social issues such as bias, equity, ethics, trust, and security (BEETS). Students will examine the ethical implications of technological advancements, explore biases embedded in algorithms and other technology systems, and analyze strategies for promoting equity and trust in technology. Through various case studies, readings, videos, discussions, and hands-on activities, students will develop a nuanced understanding of the complex relationships between technology, BEETS, and society.
