BIOLOGY COLLOQUIUM II - SCIENCE COMMUNICATION

Course Description

Have you ever wondered how a scientific discovery is reported to other scientists? To the public? We'll investigate how scientists communicate and explore ways to make this communication effective to a range of audiences. Emphasis is on the scientific research process as well as interpretation and significance of findings. Students will also identify and critique selections of current science in the news. Although designed for 2nd year CCS Bio students, the course is open to all majors - Art, Music Comp, and Writing & Lit majors are especially welcome! Students planning to participate in the Undergraduate SLAM may find this course particularly useful.
