Course Description

W&L CS 170: Literary Publishing: Making Editorial Choices is the second in a 3-quarter series of courses dedicated to Spectrum, the literary magazine housed in the College of Creative Studies. During the Winter quarter, students will select the poetry and prose to be published from the most recent submission period and will develop their skills as professional readers and editors. A significant portion of the class will also be devoted to reading other literary magazines in order to get a sense of the current literary publishing scene. In this course students will develop a sense of editorial taste, skill, and reasoning in order to make editorial decisions.
