ART ILLUSTRATION FOR PUBLICATION

Course Description

With technology, many artists today are both continuing and changing the tradition of freelance art by taking the leap to work remotely under the guidance of an invisible hand: publishers, writers, editors, art directors, and other case-by-case bosses. This colloquium is a collaborative exploration of illustration in the realm of publication and business. It will consist of self-designed illustration projects under chosen themes, critique sessions, discussions, and guest speakers. We will be challenged to be our own critics, consider feedback from peers, and how to best communicate the content we will illustrate.

This is a student-led colloquium led by Chelsea Chung under the supervision of Eric Beltz.
