This student-led colloquium is an exploration of digital art as a medium for painting and illustration. We will work with different ways to utilize the foundational tools of digital art, including layers, brushes, textures, and effects. This is not a course on how to use a specific program, such as Photoshop; instead, we will cover techniques that apply to any 2D art software.
Projects will be based on style and technique to implement the concepts discussed in class, leaving conceptual decisions open to each student. We will apply these concepts to our individual art practices and improve our skills through peer discussion and collaboration. Students should have an art background, but any level of digital art expertise is welcomed.
Enrollment is by add code only. In order to request an add code, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/U2CNguUuqJ4yvaFZ9.
