Earn 2-4 units P/NP while doing good work! In this studio art class, students will be asked to explore the signs, signifiers, and embedded meanings related to locks/keys, entrance/egress, and access/denial as raw material to design new projects. The class will focus on performances, installations, sculptural objects, ready mades, and viewer interactions as the mediums for exploration. Students will also use their individual interests in the fields of science, philosophy, art history, and pop culture to inform their personal projects. This course is designed to get us active and engaged in real spaces that we get to share with the physical presence of other humans, while also exploring the issues and passions that represent individual student’s core values and fascinations. If you are interested, write to Lucas Murgida: firstname.lastname@example.org with a brief description of your reasons/interest and you will be sent an add-code.
