BOOK ARTS: THE EDITION - INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED APPROACHES

Course Description

Through a blend of studio and seminar activity, each student will work to develop an individual limited edition artists’ books using a Risograph Digital Duplicator. Students will work to continue to establish their skills on successful book structures, the relationship of text and image, knowledge of papers for bookmaking, digital file set-up, and imposition for book publication. Readings and critical theory specific to print media, book arts, and regular individual, in-depth consultation with the instructor and peers are the norm. Students are expected to critically evaluate and discuss their research and bookmaking in a collaborative and communal environment through in-class presentations, discussions and evaluation of work.
