A course about approaching design from an art perspective, and vice versa. Students will be learning about the history of design and how it intersects with art and the art world. Students will be reading texts on design and art, and completing projects that explore personal expression through design. Students will have a great deal of flexibility with how they choose to make pieces and the materials they use, but the course will introduce students to the following Adobe Creative Suite programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. A personal laptop is highly recommended. Pre-requisites/requirements: some familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite, and ART 7B: Image Studies.
