BOTANICAL ART

Course Description

We will look at and make drawings and paintings relating to plants. This is not a scientific Botanical Illustration class, though we will look at some, along with the rich history of plants in art. This class is designed for fine art students with experience drawing and painting who want to explore the secret life of plants, but all class levels and majors with drawing and painting experience are welcome if there is room in the class.

Size, medium, taxonomy is up to you, You can also make it up, but we will be doing some work together from samples, inside and outside the classroom. We will meet with Claudia Tyler and her "Walking Biology" class twice to discuss local flora.
