The College of Creative Studies (CCS) is pleased to announce the second annual CCS Research & Creative Activities Conference (RACA-CON). Taking place on Saturday, November 3rd (location to be determined), the conference will correspond with the annual UCSB Parents and Family Weekend. RACA-CON brings together the CCS community of faculty, students, alumni, parents, and friends to learn about the remarkable work being conducted by students across all eight CCS majors (Art, Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computing, Mathematics, Music Composition, Physics, and Writing & Literature).

CCS is excited to build on the success of last year's conference, which featured two keynote addresses from Emmy Award-winner Parry Gripp (CCS Literature '92) and astrophysicist Alex Filippenko (CCS Physics '79), as well as 33 oral presentations and 55 posters and original artworks by CCS students from across the CCS disciplines.

Application Form

2018 RACA-CON applications are now open!

This year's RACA-CON will feature a keynote guest speaker (TBA), a series of brief student research talks, poster presentations, and displays and readings of original works by students from every CCS major. Recipients of CCS Summer Fellowships—supported by The Create Fund—will be presenting their research, and all CCS students involved in creative activities or research are encouraged to apply to show their work as well.

CCS invites all faculty, students, alumni, current and past parents, friends of the College, and the greater UCSB community to attend. RSVPs will be requested as the date approaches.
