41 finalists named for 2020 Hertz Fellowships
The Fannie and Hertz Foundation announced on February 6, 2020 the 41 finalists for the 2020 Hertz Fellowship in applied science, mathematics, and engineering. Ethan Epperly (CCS Math & Computing '20) is among the finalists. CCS Interim Dean Bruce Tiffney applauded Ethan: "We are so proud of Ethan for his efforts and achievements; he represented the high caliber of the CCS and UCSB student body. He is the only UCSB finalist and one of two from the University of California System among an impressive list of contenders. Congratulations, Ethan!"
The Hertz Fellowships are extremely prestigious and competitive. More than 800 students applied across 24 universities. The 2020 class of Hertz Fellows will be announced in May.
