Calculating Brilliance to be released in 2022

Dean Aldana's new book, Calculating Brilliance, explores the history of Mayan astronomy in the large pre-Columbian city of Chich’en Itza. The book follows Mayan astronomy through the ages as it explores the development of Mayan science and its continued global impact into the twenty-first century, including a focus on a female Mayan astronomer, Ilaj K’uk’il Ek’, and the widespread effect of her work.
