CCS Biology student explores innovative take on existing pathological models of depression
Frances Jiang ‘26 (CCS Biology) recently published a solo-authored paper in the scientific journal Frontiers in Psychiatry. The paper, titled “A theory of the neural mechanisms underlying negative cognitive bias in major depression", explores the neuroscience of affective disorders from a new perspective in order to improve existing pathological models of depression. Through this work, Frances aims to enhance the overall understanding of major depression and contribute to more successful recoveries for individuals affected by the disorder.
