Over 36 hours, the College of Creative Studies (CCS) community came together with the broader University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) community to celebrate the spirit of UCSB and make a collective impact on UCSB Give Day, April 10, 2025. UCSB Give Day is an annual tradition that demonstrates the power of collective generosity. Behind each gift is a proud member of our community.

“Undergraduate research and creative projects are at the heart of experiential learning at CCS, and we are all so incredibly grateful to our community for providing the means for even more eager students to have hands-on opportunities during summer 2025. With the generosity we received during Give Day, we will be able to facilitate even more life-changing research and creative experiences to our amazing students this year.”

The CCS Give Day goal was 65 gifts and we exceeded it with a total of 70 gifts and $65,329 raised

Early on, CCS received an anonymous $10,000 gift from a member of its alumni community! In addition, gift challenges from the Pace Family Foundation for $21,500 and from John '86 (CCS Mathematics) and Mary Kelly for $10,000 made it possible for us to collectively reach our goal in support of our students. We are thankful for our community’s steadfast commitment to summer undergraduate research.

The College's Give Day focus was to support its Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program, open to students in all nine majors (art, biology, chemistry and biochemistry, computing, mathematics, marine science, music composition, physics, writing & literature).

The UCSB Give Day total: $6,661,690 raised with 3,712 donor gifts.

All of us at CCS are grateful to each of our donors for collectively having a direct impact on our students!
