Two films by CCS Writing & Literature Faculty Wendy Eley Jackson, “MAYNARD” and “Welcome to Pine Lake,” will be featured on all Delta Air Lines flights worldwide from August 1 to October 31, 2024. This showcase offers an opportunity for a global audience to view these works as the national elections approach.

“MAYNARD” is a poignant portrayal of Maynard Jackson, Atlanta’s first black mayor, who navigated the city through turbulent times, including the Atlanta child murders and the triumphant hosting of the 1996 Olympics. The documentary debuted on Netflix and was available from 2018 to 2021, gaining international acclaim for its powerful storytelling about a dynamic leader who championed racial equality.

A documentary that begins by highlighting America's only city run entirely by women, "Welcome to Pine Lake" then delves into the underlying institutional racism within the community. The film premiered on CBS Primetime in 2021 and later moved to Paramount+, where it continues to captivate viewers with its compelling narrative of a progressive town grappling with the issues of governance, class, and race.

Additionally, Wendy’s film “CARTERLAND” was featured globally on Delta Air Lines up until the end of May 2024. The feature film examines the leadership style of United States President Jimmy Carter’s presidency from a uniquely inspiring perspective.
