Dr. Sharon Tettegah joins CCS with interdisciplinary experience in STEM learning, social justice, social sciences and information science

The College of Creative Studies (CCS) is pleased to announce that Faculty Sharon Tettegah has joined the college on a three-year transfer appointment.

With a background in computer science, social justice, psychology, education, and information technology, Sharon’s interdisciplinary expertise aligns with the College’s commitment to innovation in education and research.

Sharon is the Director of the Center for Black Studies Research and has affiliations with the Center for Responsible Machine Learning, the Department of Computer Science, the Center for Information Technology and Society, and comes to us from the Department of Black Studies.

Previously, Dr. Tettegah served as Associate Vice Chancellor, DEI at UCSB,  Associate Dean for Research and Sponsored Programs at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Program Chair for Digital Environments at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She has also contributed to the Beckman Institute, the National Center for Supercomputing Applications, and the National Science Foundation as a Program Director, where she managed programs across Education, Human Resources and Computer and Information Science.

The CCS College welcomes Sharon in this new capacity and looks forward to exploring opportunities for collaboration.
