The Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration

Please join us for a free screening of Michael Love's film, Bringing Back Our Wetland presented by the Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration and the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum. Learn how UC Santa Barbara, alongside a community of visionary environmentalists, restored a former Goleta golf course back into a wetland.

In support for National First-Generation Week, please join us on Tuesday, November, 7th at 6:30 p.m. in Campbell Hall for a special film screening of A Million Miles Away, the story of UC Regent, UCSB Alumni, and former NASA astronaut, Dr. José Hernández, who will also be in attendance and offer brief remarks prior to the film. The film duration is 2 hours and 1 minute.

Ixiles: Voices from the Shadows of Time is an evolving video essay and collaborative visual ethnography created by Alejandro M. Flores Aguilar. The culmination of over a decade of ethnographic work, it critically examines the history of Indigenous resistance in the Ixil region of Guatemala, from the anti-colonial struggles of the sixteenth century through the revolutionary insurgencies of the mid-twentieth century and beyond.
