A Biography:

Mark Runco earned a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the Claremont Graduate School. His dissertation was on creativity, and since completing it he has published over 300 books, articles, and chapters on the subject. He earned tenure at the University of Hawaii, Hilo, and then moved to CSUF where he opened the Creativity Research Center of Southern California. He then accepted the Torrance Professorship and was Director of the Torrance Creativity Center. He has developed and taught a variety of Creativity seminars (e.g., Assessment of Creativity, Creative Cognition, Everyday Creativity, Educating and Enhancing Creativity, Diversity and Creativity) and has held adjunct positions at Buffalo State University, Southern Oregon University, and the Norwegian Business School. Dr. Runco is a Fellow and Past President of Division 10 of the APA and remains Distinguished Research Fellow of the American Institute of Behavioral Research and Technology. He is Founding Editor of the Creativity Research Journal and co-editor of the Encyclopedia of Creativity, each of which is being revised in 2019 (www.markrunco.com). He is currently organizing the 2nd Southern Oregon University Creativity Conference (www.soucreativityconference.com).
