Corwin Chair Series: Villiers Quartet
Sunday, March 10 | 4 pm | Karl Geiringer Hall (UCSB Music Building) | Free admission

The UCSB Department of Music Corwin Chair of Composition and the College of Creative Studies will present the Villiers Quartet as part of the Corwin Chair Series. The program will include UCSB Professor Emeritus Peter Racine Fricker’s String Quartet No. 2 (1953) and String Quartet No. 3 (1976) and Thea Musgrave’s String Quartet (1958). Hailed as one of the most charismatic and “adventurous” quartets of the British chamber music scene (The Strad), the Villiers Quartet has developed an international reputation as exceptional interpreters of English composers including Elgar, Delius, Fricker, and Bush.
