Meet Nick Harvey ‘14 (CCS Chemistry & Biochemistry); Founder and CEO of Bay Area Redwood
Network with Nick Harvey ‘14 (CCS Chemistry & Biochemistry) as he shares his entrepreneurial journey from CCS to founder and CEO of Bay Area Redwood, a business that employs sustainable practices to create high-quality timber products. Join us for pizza and conversation at 2 p.m., followed by a presentation in which Nick will provide insight into alternative career paths that can arise from traditional disciplines. All CCS majors are encouraged to attend!
Nick transferred into CCS during his sophomore year at UC Santa Barbara after learning about the CCS Chemistry & Biochemistry major. While at CCS, he was a member of L&S Chemistry Faculty Steven Buratto's research group and L&S Faculty Galen Stucky's research group. Post-graduation, Nick worked as a technical staff member at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) while attending graduate school at University of California, Davis Department of Materials Science of Engineering. Two quarters prior to completing his program, Nick received a unique opportunity in the tech industry, leading him to depart from his university to pursue entrepreneurship full time. Prior to founding his current company, Nick also started Bay Area Token, a real estate services company that used proprietary data analytics to manage real estate properties. In 2019, Nick gifted a hand-crafted redwood conference table to the College as a way of giving back to the CCS community. During his visit this April, Nick will deliver and donate a much needed second conference table to the College.
The CCS students, faculty, and staff are grateful for Nick Harvey’s unwavering support of the College and applaud Nick for his entrepreneurial achievements.
