Hi Friends!

I am so excited to invite you to my Senior Exhibition, Metamorphosis, in the College of Creative Studies Art Gallery. The show will be open from May 23 to May 27, with the reception held on Wednesday May 27, from 5-7pm. I hope to see you there, and share some wine and snacks!

See you soon,

Samantha :)

Metamorphosis, is a sampling of works from her time at the College of Creative Studies. She paints large-scale figurative works, often in reference to herself, working with sensuality, ephemerality, and unresolved tension. Through mythologies and storytelling, her figures display dramatic emotional states, often conflating different feelings and perspectives. With desire frequently at the center of this: moments of anticipation or sensation are prolonged, and outcomes are indeterminate.

Samantha Wilkinson '26 (CCS Art) is a painter residing in Santa Barbara with a BA from the College of Creative Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her paintings frequently depict the human body and still lifes, where she is interested in themes of desire and duality. She prolongs tension and indeterminacy, focusing on sensory and emotional experience. Her work has been exhibited in places such as the Glass Box Gallery, the Art, Design, and Architecture Museum, and the College of Creative Studies art Gallery in both solo and group exhibitions.
