𝗞𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗲𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗮𝗻 '26 (CCS Art) (b. Orange County, CA) Completed her BA in art at the College of Creative Studies in University of California, Santa Barbara where she focused on painting. She has engaged in a variety of artistic environments, including serving as Art Director for The Daily Nexus newspaper and participating in UCSB’s Fashion Club. While her artistic range includes digital art, printmaking, and sculpture, her practice is primarily centered on oil painting.
Her work explores themes of self-narrative, femininity, and the surrounding landscape. Heartman often uses her own representation as a muse to examine these concepts, alongside depictions of friends and family who shape her lived experience. Figures and environments merge within her compositions, creating unified forms on the canvas. Through the layering of multiple images, her work abstracts memory, reflecting personal histories and the multifaceted experience of womanhood.
Currently, Heartman is expanding her practice beyond the Santa Barbara area and plans to relocate to Los Angeles, where she intends to continue her work as an oil painter while pursuing graduate studies in art therapy.
