CCS TV Musical

SHAKE ON IT, the CCS Made for TV Musical (Show 3)

Saturday April 07, 2018 8:00pm
Location
Old Little Theater

Shake On It, the musical, is a collaborative piece by students in the University of California Santa Barbara's College of Creative Studies. Over the course of two quarters students from a variety of majors worked together to bring this concept to life. Collectively creating the music, script, and the set, undergraduates from across the UCSB campus gained valuable experience of the workshopping and play production process.

Amanda Steinberg is truly and undeniably boring until a chance encounter with a charismatic gambler named Vance grants her a powerful ability. Through hand contact Amanda is now able to strip people's personality traits, leaving them shadows of their former selves in the process. As Amanda becomes the funny, smart, confident, and artistic person she always dreamed she would be, only her best friend Carly knows of her newfound power and its dangers. As she explores her "gift", Amanda becomes more and more power hungry. Will anyone stop her before there is nothing left to take?

Shake On It will be performed open to the public in the College of Creative Studies' Old Little Theater April 5-April 7, 2018.  Each show will start at 8:00 PM. Tickets will be available at the door an hour before each performance.

Visitor Parking

Please allow ample time for parking. Visitor parking will be available in several lots and parking structures with purchase of a permit. Permits may be purchased from the permit dispensers located in each lot. Parking Lots 3, 4, 5 and 9 are closest to the CCS Old Little Theater. If those lots are full, Parking Structures 10, 18 and 22 are further away, but tend to have the most visitor parking. (see map)

Please be sure to place the permit on your dashboard. Please note: visitor permits will expire at midnight. These permits are NOT valid for overnight parking. Unauthorized vehicles parked overnight on campus are subject to a $300 citation and having the vehicle impounded at the owner’s expense.

Guests are encouraged to enter campus from the south via Highway 217 North due to another event happening on campus.
