Special Screening: Facing the Falls by CCS W&L Faculty Wendy Jackson Eley
CCS Writing & Literature Faculty Wendy Jackson Eley is hosting a special screening of her powerful documentary short, Facing the Falls, which is officially under consideration with the Motion Picture Academy:
This film tells the powerful story of international disability rights advocate Cara Elizabeth Yar Khan. Battling a progressive muscle-wasting disease called Hereditary Inclusion Body Myopathy, Cara, despite being unable to walk unassisted, embarks on a bold 12-day expedition through the Grand Canyon. Her journey not only shatters stigma around disability but also delves into themes of fear, trust, and vulnerability, both for Cara and her team, who are faced with unexpected challenges in the wilderness.
If you know anyone in the Los Angeles area who would be interested in attending, we’d love to have them join us. The screening will be held in the UTA Screening Room, which offers ample space for attendees. RSVP essential to ftf@frankpublicity.com
Thank you in advance for your support in helping spread the word about Facing the Falls. We hope to see familiar faces at the screening to celebrate this remarkable story of courage and resilience. Learn more about us here: www.facingthefalls.com
