Write on the Edge: A Workshop at Coal Oil Point (Feb 24th & 25th)

Saturday February 24, 2024 10:00am
Location
The Nature Center at Coal Oil Point

Schedule:

Saturday, February 24 | 10 AM – 4 PM
Sunday, February 25 | 1 PM – 6 PM

In this two-day writing workshop, participants will interact with the landscape at Coal Oil Point Reserve, where the ocean meets the land in a series of ever-changing edges: dunes, lagoons, ponds, and channels create the dynamic intertidal zone. Participants will write about the different boundaries they observe in this liminal space, then return to the nature center to share their work. The workshop leaders will provide short readings and instruction in writing with and about the ecology of a place. The final day of the workshop will culminate in an open mic reading of the work students produced during the workshop.
