Wes Fields ‘76 (CCS Literature) Announces Third Novel, Concessions and Betrayals
Novel is driven by author’s family legacy in the Middle East
Wes Fields ‘76 (CCS Literature) announces his third novel, Concessions and Betrayals. Written over a series of years, the story is driven by Wes’ family involvement with the Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO) in the Middle East during World War II. Wes combined his studies at CCS in literature and life sciences, and over the years was able to balance his love for writing while practicing medicine. After CCS, Wes attended the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC), followed by an internship and residency in emergency medicine at UCLA/Harbor General Hospital. Wes was an associate clinical professor at University of California, Irvine among other roles in his medical career. While Wes is now retired, he intends on pursuing his writing craft.
Wes’ engagement with the CCS community includes being featured as one of 50 stories to celebrate the College’s 50 anniversary in 2017-18, participating in an alumni career panel in 2019, and serving as a judge for the CCS Writing Competitions in 2021 and 2023.
