Please join for Martina Chen's (CCS Music Composition '23) Senior Recital. (free)

Martina's senior recital will feature live and electronic music she has composed throughout her time studying at UCSB, performed by musicians from various majors.

Martina Chen is currently a 3rd-year undergraduate in the UCSB College of Creative Studies Music Composition program. She is involved in music as a composer, violinist, stage technician, and producer. Her music is inspired by video games, jazz, and East Asian traditions.

Please join for Eric Huang's (CCS Music Composition '23) Senior Recital. The recital will include film scores, chamber works, and will finish with two pieces performed by an orchestra.

MIRROR MEMOIRS: Trauma, Healing, and Surviving as Tools for Social Justice

Welcome to the Black Flea Market brought to you by the MCC in collaboration with the Office of Black Student Development (OBSD). This event is centered around celebrating Black magic during Black History Month. The goal is to embrace the Black community at UCSB with participation from various Black organizations, creatives, and most importantly YOU. Join us for delicious food, FREE goodies for the soul, body, mind, and spirit – music and the best of vibes.

UC Santa Barbara's College of Creative Studies (CCS) will host an exhibition, “To See Is To Forget The Name Of The Thing You See,” by artist Ben Tong and curated by Kim Córdova '07 (CCS Art). The exhibit will open with a reception on February 15 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm in the CCS Gallery. The show will be on display through March 17.

Join Abigail Horn ‘07 (CCS Physics), Research Assistant Professor, University of Southern California for her upcoming talk on “Tracing the Source of Large-Scale Outbreaks of Foodborne Contamination across Complex Food Supply Networks.”

This ride, which will be led by UCSB Health & Wellness staff, is inspired by Chapter 8 in Happy City: Transforming Our Lives Through Urban Design by Charles Montgomery. It takes place on January 27, 2023 from 12 to 4 pm. In this chapter of the UCSB Reads 2023 selection, Montgomery writes "City life is as much about moving through landscapes as it is about being in them . . . not only does the city shape the way we move, but our movements shape the city in return."

Gordan Tudor and Mislav Režić present a concert marking the 30th Anniversary of International Recognition of the Republic of Croatia. They will be featuring compositions by Stephen Goss, Chiel Meijering, Davor Branimir Vincze, Mirela Ivičević, Steve Reich, Radiohead, and Ivan Božičević.

Sound Painting is the universal multidisciplinary live composing sign language for musicians, actors, dancers, and visual artists. Come join our class in our end-of-quarter performance as we share what we've learned in this improvisatory performance experience. Each Sound Painting performance is creative, unique, and unrepeatable: you don't want to miss this!

Gaurav Mishra '22 (CCS Music Composition) will present their senior music composition recital on May 20, 2022 at 3:00pm in the UCSB Studio Theater. The program will include a reading of an original musical by Gaurav and is presented alongside the theatre piece "Party Favor."
