Linda Ekstrom completed her MFA in Studio Art in 1996 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her art works have been included in both solo and group exhibitions including, Minan Gallery, Los Angeles; Jane Deering Gallery, Santa Barbara; Frumkin Gallery, Santa Monica; Montgomery Gallery, Pomona College; Center for the Book, San Francisco; Center for the Book, New York; Kellogg Museum, Cal Poly, Pomona; LIMN Gallery and Quotidian Gallery in San Francisco. In addition her work was included in the international exhibition, “Faith” at the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, Ridgefield Connecticut; “Sacred Texts” at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and, “City Dialogues” at Barnsdall Museum, Los Angeles. Ekstrom’s work has been reviewed in Art in America, Sculpture Magazine, the Los Angeles Times and numerous other publications. From 1998-2000, Ekstrom served on the committee for the Los Angeles Cathedral, Our Lady of the Angels, to select art for the exterior and interior of the new cathedral designed by Raphael Moneo. In 2003 she participated in the Notre Dame University Erasmus Institute Faculty Seminar, led by Geoffrey Hartman, Sacred Hermeneutics and Secular Interpretation, which gathered a select group of scholars from the United States and Europe. Ekstrom has presented lectures on the subject of religion and contemporary art at the Faith and Forum Conference for Sacred Architecture in 2003, at Yale University in 2005, and at Union Theological Seminary in 2006. Her artworks are included in various public and private collections.
