The Eddleman Center for Quantum Innovation (ECQI) at UCSB invites you to participate in the new Art of Quantum Competition! The ECQI recognizes the value of engaging the general public in learning about quantum technologies such as quantum information processing, quantum sensing, quantum simulation, quantum communication, and quantum networking. To make these quantum technologies more accessible, visible, and intriguing for all, the ECQI community created the Art of Quantum.

Humbug: A Theory of Ritual

Profs at the Pub is a speaker series, traditionally held in person at Santa Barbara County's local pubs and wineries. In the virtual space, Profs at the Pub has taken on a new life. It's still equally as informative with all of the fun, from the comfort of your own home.

Directed by Dr. Sarah Gibson, the UC Santa Barbara Ensemble for Contemporary Music will present "Finding Your Place" on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 6 pm as a YouTube Premiere via the Department of Music’s YouTube channel. Including thirteen world premieres of compositions written specifically for ECM's fabulous performers by UCSB's student composers, each composer and performer responds musically to the theme of "Place" in their collaborative solo work.

Distinguished panelists representing students, alumni, parents, faculty, and staff will be joining Dean Aldana for this lively discussion.

In the two decades before the Civil War, a new type of capitalism developed in the northern United States that stressed mass education, widespread innovation, and new markets for art and design. Through creative labor, Black abolitionists highlighted the evils of slavery and made a compelling case for racial equality.

In this webinar, we will also broadcast a recorded series of introductions from CCS Faculty, a brief self-introduction from our CCS Staff, and a greeting from CCS’s Community Council. We anticipate this meeting should be finished by 10:45.
